Our technology partner Kontron, a leading global provider of embedded IoT solutions, presents the new System-On-Module (SoM) OSM-S i.MX93. This module features a dual-core Arm® Cortex®-A55 @1.7 GHz and a 250 MHz Cortex® M33 real-time co-processor. It also offers up to 2 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 512 GB eMMC memory. Thanks to direct soldering, this module can be efficiently integrated into automated assembly and test processes.
Processor and acceleration possibilities
The OSM-S i.MX93 is equipped with a dual-core Arm® Cortex®-A55 @1.7 GHz, which together with a 250 MHz Cortex® M33 real-time co-processor provides a powerful processing environment. In addition, the Arm®-based Neural Processing Unit (NPU) Ethos™ U-65 micro provides accelerated neural network processing, ideal for applications such as machine vision or intelligent energy management systems.
Features and interfaces
This SoM offers a wide range of functions and interfaces that make it suitable for a variety of applications. In addition to the two CAN and two Ethernet interfaces, the module has a MIPI DSI display interface and a MIPI CSI camera interface. Camera systems can also be connected via LAN or USB. The compact design of just 30 mm x 30 mm makes it particularly attractive for applications where space is a limited resource.
Applications and safety
The OSM-S i.MX93 is particularly suitable for applications in the fields of industrial automation, gateways and IoT. Thanks to the support of the EdgeLock® Secure Enclave, security is an outstanding feature of this module. This pre-configured and autonomous security subsystem ensures the security, flexibility and user-friendliness of the system and is used in IoT applications such as smart city, smart building and edge computing.
Overall, the OSM-S i.MX93 offers a powerful, versatile and secure solution for a wide range of embedded IoT applications that require sophisticated processing capabilities.
